 Radcliffe eGroups

Radcliffe is happy to sponsor several eGroups.   eGroups are social groups based on the internet.  A number of these types of groups exist all across the internet and frequently are of a specific topic or interest.  There intent is to bring together members of the local communities (though sometimes the groups are not specific to a locale) that share common interests.

For more information on a specific group, please select one that interests you from the eGroups section of the Quick Launch menu at left.

Radcliffe eGroup Moderation Policies

Membership to Radcliffe eGroups shall be unmoderated.

Messages posted to Radcliffe eGroups shall be unmoderated.

Radcliffe eGroups shall not require moderator approval for membership or for messages to be posted to the group.   This is to avoid issues of censorship and to keep the workload required to administrate the eGroup to a minimum.

Radcliffe eGroup SPAM Policies

eGroups owned and operated by Radcliffe adhere to the following polices regarding user-postings identified to be SPAM.

SPAM shall be defined as messages posted to Radcliffe eGroups that solicit and/or advertise to eGroup membership for products and/or services not considered to be relevant to the eGroup’s topic.   Members to the eGroup may post advertisements for products/services they offer that are relevant to the eGroup’s topic only.   Such postings should be kept to a minimum and members who join and contribute only advertisements may be banned at the moderators’ discretion.

When SPAM is identified the following steps shall be taken to prevent further SPAM from the offending user from being received by the eGroup:

·          User will be banned from the eGroup and will then be unable to send further messages to the eGroup’s mailing list.

·          SPAM messages will be deleted from the message archive contained on the eGroup’s web pages.   (This will not delete such messages that have already been sent to the egroup from appearing in the members’ email inboxes.

For questions, concerns, or to report SPAM, please email egroups@radcliffeulc.org and identify the eGroup for which you are inquiring.
